Blush Beauty Mystery Box November 2013 Review + Coupon

Be sure to get your last minute entries in our $600+ PopSugar Neiman Marcus giveaway while you're here! :D

Time again for another awesome box from Blush Beauty! This subscription costs $35 for a one time purchase or $25/month with subscription ($26.45 with tax to Kentucky) and contains $100+ of beauty products. This month is advertised to contain $250+ of products!!

Each month has a guest curator. This month's box was curated by Lauren Feist, celebrity makeup artist. She has been a professional makeup artist for 10+ years, including 5 years with MAC. Let's get to it!

Here's first looks:

And the breakdown:

NeoStrata Antioxident Defense Serum, $5 - I've been all about some serums lately, so excited to try it!

Angel's Magic NHEB-05 Lotion, sample - Smelled so good, like a clean baby!, but not nearly moisturizing enough for my dry skin

Pur-Lisse SPF 30 Daily Moisturizer, $55 - This tube is 1.7 oz and I was surprised to see how expensive it is! I'm going on a sunny vacation in a couple of weeks (yay!) and this one is going in the travel bag!

Nick Chavez Horsetail Root Lifting Spray, $9 - It is always a little weird when you go to research a product and the only places you really see it are Amazon and a discontinued page on QVC? Interesting...

SmartFX Eyelash Enhancer, $125 - I was wondering where the high value of this box was going to come from and here it is! SUPER pumped about this. I received an eyelash serum sample in this box last month and was disappointed when it didn't last long. This one is FULL SIZE and I've already started using it! Come on ridiculously awesome lashes!!!

Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Maximum Volume Mascara, $19.50 - I have said it a million times but I am super serious about mascara and more than a little devoted to Maybelline products. I give all of these higher end ones a fair shot, though, with hopes that they wow me!

Cargo High Pigment Pencil, $16 - Over the last few months I've gotten really, really into eyeliner but browns are just not my favorite. This one will likely be passed along to someone else.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Mini Hydrafull Gloss, $8 - This  little gloss is adorbs. It claims to have all kinds of clinically proven results over time like fuller lips, etc. Going to be fun to try!

Paula's Choice Resist Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum, $5 - Wow... that's a long product name! LOL!

So this month's box cost me $26 and contained $240+ worth of product. Pretty freaking amazing. Another month of high value and I'm super stoked about it. You can read my reviews of past months in the drop down menu above and here: October, September, August, July, June, May.

If you are interested in trying the Blush Beauty subscription service, let me know! I can send you an e-mail invite and you and I will each get a $10 coupon when you sign up! Win-win!! This month's box is still available for a one-time purchase of $34.95, which is still quite a bargain! :D

Blush Beauty Mystery Box October 2013 Review

Be sure to enter my fun October mini makeover giveaway while you're here! :D

Guess what? It's another awesome month from Dermstore's Blush Beauty Mystery Box!! This subscription is officially my third favorite (behind PopSugar and Ipsy) and I LOVE it again this month!! I had seen a couple of spoilers but it's always a fun surprise!!

This subscription costs $35 for a one time purchase or $25/month with subscription ($26.45 with tax to Kentucky) and contains $100+ of beauty products.

Each month has a guest curator. This month's box was curated by Kimberly Klotz-Kolodziejski (glad my kids didn't have to learn to spell that last name! LOL), co-founder of Chella Skin Care. She and her husband founded Chella and she's the brand's spokesperson and beauty consultant. She says she likes to "keep Chella fresh and open to new possibilities." Let's get to it!

Here's first looks:

And the breakdown:

Miracle Skin Transformer Face SPF 20 - $5 - This looks similar to the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer that I have adored for ages. Anxious to see if it compares!

Karin Herzog Vitamin H Rich Nourishing Face Cream, $4 - What is vitamin H??? Some mystery miracle cure that I've been looking for my whole life??? LOL

Talika Lipocils Expert Eyelash Treatment, $7 - I was just texting with a friend last night about eyelashes. I've always been pretty serious about them but I've never tried one of these treatment serums! This kind of thing has been on my list to try for a while, so anxious to get started on it!

Theraplex FT Exfoliating Emollient, $15 - There aren't many good things about colder weather but having a chance to pamper flip flop weary feet is one of them! ;)

Chella Ivory Lace Highlighter, $15 - This was one of the spoilers leaked by Blush and I was pumped about it. Like everyone else, I'm in love with this highlighter crayon after receiving it in my June Ipsy Bag! I'm excited to have a backup since mine is going fast!

Myface Cosmetics Lip Pop Gloss, $18 - Just with a quick bit of digging, this looks like a UK brand that is still relatively new to the US. Excited to try it!

Mirabella Brilliant Mineral Highlighting Powder, $38 - LOVE this. I grabbed a brush and put some of it on as soon as I saw it! It's subtly sparkly and gives a natural pink glow. I can see myself easily becoming obsessed!

Butter London Nail Lacquer in Kerfuffle, $15 - This was the other spoiler leaked by Blush. I have always been happy with the Butter formula but this color is weird for me. I was hoping it was going to be a bit more sheer when I put it on but it's a super opaque peachy pink that seems off for fall. To be honest, it is kind of off for me any time of the year, especially for a pedicure. We definitely don't have a color like this, though, so my girls will find some use for it, I'm sure.

Bonus samples and coupons: Specific Beauty Night Treatment Complex (20% off at Dermstore with code SPECIFIC), Dremu Oil Serum (20% off with promo code DREMU-20), 20% off PMD Personal Microderm products at Dermstore with code PMD20

So this month's box cost me $26 and contained $115+ worth of product. Another month of high value and I'm super stoked about it. You can read my reviews of past months in the drop down menu above and here: September, August, July, June, May.

If you are interested in trying the Blush Beauty subscription service, let me know! I can send you an e-mail invite and you and I will each get a $10 coupon when you sign up! Win-win!! This month's box is still available for a one-time purchase of $34.95, which is still quite a bargain! :D

Blush Mystery Beauty Box September Review

Be sure to enter my Social Monograms giveaway for a personalized leather clutch while you're here!! :D

Guess what? It's another awesome month from Dermstore's Blush Beauty Mystery Box!! This subscription is officially my third favorite (behind PopSugar and Ipsy) and I LOVE it again this month!! I had seen one itty bitty spoiler but for the most part it was a super fun total surprise!!

This subscription costs $35 for a one time purchase or $25/month with subscription ($26.45 with tax to Kentucky) and contains $100+ of beauty products. Each month has a guest curator. This month's box was curated by Sara Strand, creative director for Pop Beauty who describes her style as "bringing makeup artistry to the street!" This kit is supposed to contain everything one would need to survive Fashion Week. I've survived fashion week successfully in the past, but am always open to suggestions! Haha! Let's get to it!

Here's first looks:

And the breakdown:

Racinne Ultimate Youth Power Travel Set, $59 - I couldn't find anything like this set online so my valuation comes from quick and dirty calculations from the four full size items (serum, cream, neck emulsion and mask). Um, I'm first to admit there are probably mistakes in my ml to ounces to grams calculations... LOL! I'm heading to LA for a whirlwind weekend next week and I'm thinking this just might make it in my bag!

Amlactin Foot Cream, $13 - Oh my end of summer feet could use the TLC! This is going right into rotation!

Brad Biophotonic Skin Care Ultra Peel, $25 - This stuff? Never heard of it but it retails for $100/ounce! I learned a while back to never discount the value of even the smallest tube! Wow. I sure wish there were some reviews on Amazon. I'm definitely intrigued!

Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Dry Shampoo,  $1 - I'm hoping "anti-aging" means it covers grays! haha! This handy little size is going right in my travel bag, too!

Pop Beauty Pouty Pop Crayon in Fuchsia Flirt, $4 - Am I the only person who misspells fuchsia EVERY SINGLE TIME??? Thank you autocorrect! ;) The value of these is always listed as something like $14 but they come in sets of 6 for around $24, so I'm going with that. I've liked the Pop Beauty crayon that I received in the July Ipsy Bag but this bright color looks even BETTER! Love it.

LVX Nail Polish in Midori, $14 - Eh, the color looks a little bright to me for fall, but always excited to try a new brand!

Anastasia Clear Brow Gel,  $7 - I needed this, so it goes right into rotation, too!

Bonus Samples

Vichy Liftactiv - Always excited about eye products!

Airbrush Eye Cream - Third month in a row receiving this and I'm happy to get it! I'm almost through my second little pot and it's growing on me, for sure!

So this month's box cost me $26 and AGAIN contained $120+ worth of product. Another month of high value and I'm super stoked about it. You can read my reviews of past months in the drop down menu above and here: August, July, June, May.

If you are interested in trying the Blush Beauty subscription service, let me know! I can send you an e-mail invite and you and I will each get a $10 coupon when you sign up! Win-win!! This month's box is still available for a one-time purchase of $34.95, which is still quite a bargain! :D

Blush Beauty Mystery Box August Review

Ok.... get ready. It's another awesome month from Dermstore's Blush Beauty Mystery Box!! This subscription is officially my third favorite (behind PopSugar and Ipsy) and I LOVE it again this month!! It was even more fun because I didn't peek (for once) and it was a total surprise!!

This subscription costs $35 for a one time purchase or $25/month with subscription ($26.45 with tax to Kentucky) and contains $100+ of beauty products. Each month has a guest curator. This month's box was curated by Liz Franz, editor-in-chief of Dermstore.com, blush.com and HairEnvy.com and a "beauty junkie to the core." Let's get to it!

Here's first looks:

And the breakdown!

Mor Emporium Hand Cream in Snow Gardenia, $20 -  This brand is new to me! I love the black and gold fancy packaging and the smell is intensely floral in a way I love, kind of like my beloved Flowerbomb perfume!

Philip B. Maui Wowie Beach Mist, $22 - Eh, I've gotten SO MANY salt type sprays, kind of over it. I can't really use them on my hair but my girls love playing with them! They will be excited to have a new one to try! :)

Eminence Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant, $5 - Interesting, this stuff is in powder form! It's supposed to be used daily to exfoliate gently and unclog and tighten pores. Excited to try it!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Lash Genius Waterproof Top Coat, $12 - This is applied over any mascara to make it waterproof. I always wind up with smudges, so all of my mascaras are already waterproof, but I will be using this ASAP! I hope it's as fabulous as the few reviews on Amazon say it is!!

Vapour Organic Beauty Elixir Lip Gloss in Hush, $20 -
Love the idea of organic on the lips!

Pixi Beauty Endless Silky Eye Pen in #2 Black Blue, $15 - I ran straight to the bathroom to try this one! I LOVE myself some liquid eyeliner and this pencil felt and looked basically like a liquid! And I'm excited to have a color that's a little bit different!

Coola SPF 30 Face Classic Sunscreen, sample - Eh, again like the beach spray, I've gotten SO MUCH sunscreen and, now that it's August, I don't really need anymore to add to the excess pile. I'm sure I'll use it eventually. Interesting that J. Crew sells this brand?!

Carita Paris Masque Biologique, $26 - I almost didn't even look up a price for this little tube so imagine my surprise when I did and the stuff prices out at $90 for 1.7 ounces, making this 1/2 tube worth $26! Yikes. I love a good mask! I'll be using this one ASAP (and expecting miracles! LOL)

Alchimie Rejuvenating Eye Balm, Sample - always excited to try eye products!

Airbrush Eye Cream, Sample - I just finished using up my sample of this from last month's box, so I was happy to get another one! It's a good, basic eye cream!

So this month's box cost me $26 and contained $120+ worth of product. Another month of high value and I'm super stoked about it. You can read my reviews of past months here: July, June, May.

If you are interested in trying the Blush Beauty subscription service, let me know! I can send you an e-mail invite and you and I will each get a $10 coupon when you sign up! Win-win!! This month's box is still available for a one-time purchase of $34.95, which is still quite a bargain! :D

Blush Beauty July Mystery Box Review

I've had my ups and downs with the Blush Beauty Mystery box, but I'm so glad I decided to stick around! This box costs $35 for a one time purchase, or $25 a month with a subscription (plus tax, so $26.45 to Kentucky), and promises over $100 worth of product. Each month has a guest curator. This month's box was curated by Elle Leary, a makeup artist and "Hollywood's go-to glam girl." Interesting!

Here's first looks of the July box:

Hmm... truly mysterious! LOL

And the breakdown!

Lumene Vitamin C + Pure Radiance Lotion - $20

Philip B. Self Adjusting Hair Spray - $22

Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Glow Pad - $18 for 10.  I've heard such great things about these facial tanner pads and I'm in LOVE. They are perfect.

Deborah Lippmann 3D Holographic polish - $19. My oldest kiddo has this on her nails now and it's so pretty! It took a couple of coats for full coverage but has lasted really well.

Hydroxatone AM/PM anti-wrinkly complex SPF 15 - $50

BioElements Quick Refiner - $4

Airbrush Eye Refining Treatment - bonus sample

Emani Organic Lip Shine - $16. This is a new brand to me! Excited to try it!

So this month's box cost me $26 and contained about $150 of product! Pretty awesome!! If you are interested in trying the Blush Beauty subscription service, let me know. I can send you an e-mail invite and you and I will each get a $10 coupon when you sign up!

Blush Beauty Mystery Box June Review

Uh... Ok.

I didn't say anything about the kind of rough condition of the items in my Blush Box last month, but since this month's looked even MORE beat up, I had to email the company and say something about it. It seriously looked like the box had been opened, handled and partially used before it got to me...

This box ships from dermstore.com and costs $24.99/month when you sign up for a subscription or $35 for a one time purchase.

Here's first looks:

And the breakdown:

Glytone spray sunscreen SPF 50 ($39) - Whoa. That's some expensive sunscreen! Looks like I'll be keeping this one for myself instead of coating it on the kiddos. I'm expecting miracles from this $40 spray can! No, for real, I'm expecting it to be the perfect anti-spray sunscreen (no stinging eyes, no impossible to scrub off in the shower, no yellowing if sprayed on white fabric....). We'll see!

Supergoop CC cream ($2) - SOooo many BB and now CC creams floating around... I'll get around to trying this one eventually!

Miracle Skin Transformer Body SPF 20 tinted treatment ($5) - This has a nice shimmer to it! And love that it has SPF built in! BUT.... my tube looked like somebody with greasy fingers had handled it to death, much of the shiny silver writing is completely worn/rubbed off the tube... GROSS.

Hydroxatone Microdermabrasion ($15) - I like a good exfoliator but remain a little freaked out by the "microdermabrasion" label. Gonna give it a go, though! This box was totally smashed to and beaten to death, but the jar and seal seem to be okay.

Delecor cleanser duo ($4) - Love this little packable size of these and the little bag they came in. Unfortunately, one bottle was significantly less full than the other, making me think it might have been used since there was no sign of leakage in the box.... Ugh. Again, GROSS.

Stila Lip Glaze ($13) - I've had these many times before. Great basic product to throw in purse or going out clutch!

DHC Clarifying Power Cover Base ($19) - I've yet to find a primer that I really, really like. Hopefully this will be the one! Love that it's full-sized! This box was also open and smushed a bit in the packaging, but tube looks okay.

Innovative Skincare sample

So, this box cost $25 and had a value of close to $100, just shy of the $100+ promised by the service. The value was there and I liked that the box was curated by a specific dermatologist, giving it a logical, cohesive feel. I did not like the fact that four of my products looked slightly damaged or used.... Waiting to hear back from Blush. Hopefully there's some logical explanation!! I'll update when I have more info!

*** The Blush subscription doesn't have a referral program, per se, but if you'd like to make a purchase from Dermstore, HairEnvy or Blush.com, let me know and I can e-mail you a $10 off of $30 coupon (which gives me a coupon, too! :)

** The company quickly sent me out a new box! They are keeping my business!

Blush Mystery Beauty Box May Review

Ahh.... So good to be home after a fabulous four nights in Santa Barbara! More on California later this week! :) I had a couple of boxes waiting on me and this is one I was super excited to get to! The Blush Beauty Mystery Box! This box is $34.95 a month, or $24.95 a month with subscription (plus tax, so $26.45 to Kentucky), and promises over $100 worth of product. Here's the first looks:

Cute branded drawstring bag!

 And the goodies!

First thing I noticed was the little bag from Bauble Bar. Woot! Only the first 2,000 boxes were going to get this item and I was pumped to get one! There were three possible styles. Mine is the Pink Ice Disk style, which looks to be a different color than the ones available online, which is cool. I would definitely have picked a skull or something on my own, so it's good to have gotten something new to try! This style is available in a set of pick 3 for $36, so I'm giving it a value of $12. The included card has a unique code for $15 off of $40 and... ugh, I hate when they include these types of deals in boxes but I LOVE so many things on this site. Will most likely get suckered into using this one!

The next item which was leaked as a spoiler on this box is the set of Skylark nail polishes ($29)! Adorbs! I love these! I've never used this brand of polish and I'm excited to try it! I hope the colors are as bright as they look in the bottles!!

The next couple of items are Nick Chavez Advanced Volume Conditioner ($24) and B. Kamins BB Cream (.5 oz, $14). I looooove big hair! I'm all for any product that makes it bigger and bigger, so I'm excited about this! Haha! And love the fact that it's FULL SIZE so I can really give it a good try! I've heard so much lately about BB Cream and am excited to finally have some to use. Hope it's as miraculous as it claims to be!! I'm travel weary! I could use a miracle! LOL!

The final full size item is Chocolate Mousse eyeliner from Cailyn ($21). This is another brand that's new to me, which is so fun!! I used to LOVE eyeliner.... this might just be the product to get me back into it! The dramatic looks on their website are really cool!

There were a few little bonus samples, SkinCeuticals SPF 45 and COTZ Face SPF 40 (love these little sunscreen samples to throw in bags throughout the summer!) and Vichy Labs ProEVEN.

Altogether I came up with a value of $100 plus the bonus samples. Pretty good deal! I am super happy with this box, especially since it had a practical item (the conditioner) that was worth as much as I paid for the whole thing! If you would like to try the Blush Beauty Box, let me know! I can send you a referral email and we will both get $10 if you join!
