Total Beauty Mystery Collection August Box Review

*YAWN* Not very excited about this one, folks. I had already read spoilers and knew how disappointed I was going to be... 

This box promised 7+ full size products plus samples worth $75+ for just $26. I had a coupon code that made it $22. It's sold out now but you can check out other Total Beauty collections HERE.

Revlon Colorstay Eyeshadow, $6. I have a palette like this already that I love, so maybe it will get used... or maybe it just goes in the girls' makeup kit... ;)

Chella Exfoliating Cleanser, sample. The only thing I know about Chella is the highlighter pencil I received in my June Ipsy bag and that thing is AWESOME. Hopefully this cleanser is, too. Wish it was a bigger sample to really get a feel for it!

Revlon Colorstay Nail Polishes,  $5 each.  Really? A couple of the colors will transition into fall, I guess. The green might be... interesting? But, jeez, what a snooze fest.

NYX Roll On Shimmer, $3. The girls will like this! It's so tiny, though. I'm sure it will be done in time for our August Empties!

NYX Color Balm, $3. Yawn... Ok. We always wind up using lip balm. 

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter, $6 each.  I've heard good things about these... but really MORE lip balm??

Honest Company Lip Balm, $4. Oh goody! MORE lip balm! Haha! At least this one is a higher end product!

Natural Olive Cream, Sample. Sure, we'll give it a shot. At least it's not lip balm! ;)

Ferro Cosmetics Bronzer Samples, $3.  Eh... Okay.

So I came up with a value of $51 plus a couple of samples... YIKES. Pretty short of the $75+ promised. 

The main problem for me is that there were SEVEN full size Revlon products. Now, I don't mind some Revlon, but would I have paid $22 for a Revlon Mystery Box? Uh, no. Luckily I love nail polish but if I didn't/couldn't use it, would I have been disappointed in a "beauty" box that derived almost half its value from (possibly crappy) polishes? Uh, YES.

When looking around their website I noticed that the "Total Beauty Collection Revlon Edition" is still available for $15. It contains FOUR of these products in EXACT shades and everything and is described as a box to freshen up your look for SPRING (eyeshadow palette, lip butters and a polish)?? WHY are they sending this out as an AUGUST BOX?? Gross.

I had such high hopes for this box after hearing that their first box hadn't gone so well... Will 3rd time be the charm?? I won't be around to find out without a spoiler that promises something I really, really want. What a disappointment.
