January Birchbox Man "Go Time" Box Review

Birchbox Man is a men's subscription service that costs $20/month. Each month includes men's grooming items and a fun lifestyle item. A year subscription is $195, which provides a savings of $45, if you decide to go that way! This has been such a fun subscription! It would be an awesome gift for that hard to buy for man in your life!! And a great way to up your/his style game for the new year! ;)

The January box is themed Go Time and is supposed to focus on simply putting one foot in front of the other for a fresh start in 2014. No vague resolutions or get-fit-quick schemes, just starting simple to set the tone for a healthy game plan that will actually last all year. Sounds good to me!

Tommy John 360 Sport Trunk, $31 - These look great but sadly they sent us a Large this time? We've gotten Mediums in other styles, so not sure why the size change. Hopefully I can find someone to swap or these will find their way to eBay :( 

Reviver Dry Deodorant Wipes, $2.70 - These are a great idea! A wipe to run over your clothes to remove all smells. I'm kind of psycho about bad smells... I don't even like food cooked in the house for the most part. So these are great for me! LOL! And one of our favorite Louisville restaurants, Hammerheads, leaves you smelling like a smoked pig, so these would be prefect for after dinner there! ;)

Ernest Supplies Soap Free Gel Face Wash, $1.85 - How cute is this container? I love the camping vibe of it! Hubs has already been using it. It gets great reviews online!

English Laundry Notting Hill Cologne, $2 - Love the gold package! Hubs has so many fun new fragrances to try!

Proraso Shave Cream, $.70 - The little barber shop package of this one is cute! 

I came up with a total value of about $38 for this box, which as usual is higher than the cost. Not the highest value box we've received and a bit of a miss for us based solely on sizing of the lifestyle item.

You get $1 in Birchbox points for each item you review so, after the reviews, the box actually only cost me about $7.40 (I purchased a year subscription with a special deal a few months back). This wasn't my favorite box from Birchbox Man but I overall love this subscription and can't wait to see what they send next!! 

Birchbox Man #ManoftheYear December 2013 Box Review

Birchbox Man is a men's subscription service that costs $20/month. Each month includes men's grooming items and a fun lifestyle item. A year subscription is $195, which is a savings of $45. This has been such a fun subscription! It would be an awesome Christmas gift for that hard to buy for man in your life!! 

The December box is themed #ManoftheYear and is supposed to focus on chart-toppers of a personal nature from 2013. It is supposed to "raise a glass to our own best moments, looks and deeds - and the ones still to come." Sounds good to me! Cheers! ;)

Lucky Tiger Liquid Shave Cream,  $10.20 - I was totally surprised at the price of this little 3.4 ounce bottle! Idk why, just wasn't expecting it to price out at more than $10! Hope the stuff is fab!

Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion, $9.75 - This stuff is pricey, too, at $78 for full-size. This is borderline metro for my hubs, but the reviews online for it are awesome and he does use something scrubby every once in a while!

LA Fresh Travel Lite Shoe Shine Wipes,  $1.70 - I always like getting wipes of any kind in boxes! I have some boots that are going to be so excited to have these! Haha!

American Crew Alternator Styler, $1.40 - Hubs loved American Crew stuff at one point. Don't know that he's ever tried this stuff, which is fun! This is a great size little travel hairspray!

Grey Area Fake Roley, $40 - This was the lifestyle item for my box and... meh. It's supposed to be a cheeky statement piece but it falls totally flat for me. It looks cheap and not really even ironic. It comes in other colors, which might be better, but the black one has all kinds of lint and fuzz and stuff on it, even after just being in the box. Fail.

Supersmile Ultimate Lip Treatment, $6.40 - Another item that was pricey, this little tube is tiny! The full-size costs $24. The girls and I have all tried it and, even though the vanilla/almondy kind of scent is nice, it hasn't seemed revolutionary yet!

I came up with a total value of about $70 for this box, which as usual is much higher than the cost. Birchbox Man November 2013 "More Good" Box Review + Coupon Code

Birchbox Man is a men's subscription service that costs $20/month but I got an INCREDIBLE deal. A year subscription is $195, which is already a savings of $45, and then I used code GLAMLATINA15 to get an extra 15% off! My year subscription cost $165.75 (- $16 in Birchbox points that I received for my purchase, it really only cost $149!). That makes each box cost about $12.40 and that's before receiving $1/item for reviewing the boxes themselves. I think if you add one of the gifts in the "bonus shop" to your cart that you get that, too! Hope the whole deal still works! Let me know if it does (or doesn't!). Would be an awesome Christmas gift!! 

Now, on to the November box, "More Good," which includes a selection of "brands that do good in unique ways." Not sure what those are, since there are no further details included, but there is an information card for men who are interested in participating in Movember - growing out their mustaches in support of cancer research. Each 'stache that signs up on the Birchbox site will get dollar for dollar raised matched by Birchbox. Pretty cool!

Vitamine & Sea Shaving Cream, $1.30 - I was hoping for some fab smell when I popped this open but there really wasn't a smell at all.... Maybe the selling point is in the use!

Atelier Cologne Mistral Patchouli, sample and postcard - This stuff retails for $125 a bottle, really??? It seriously smells like Brut or generic old man cologne to me... not a fan! Definitely not a fan for $125! But, hey, that's the beauty of trying before you buy!! LOL!

Billy Jealousy Sake Bomb Moisturizer,  $2.25 - Eh. This lotion has a generic clean/fresh scent. I was unimpressed with the texture and didn't notice any significant moisturizing benefits. I'm serious about lotion, though.... so expectations are high.

Towel Dry Conditioning Shampoo, $.67 - I'm confused about the inclusion of this. It is for thick or curly hair, which describes mine but is completely opposite of my husband's and what his profile specifies for this box. Oh well. I'll give it a try eventually.

Apolis Travel Candle, $30 - This thing smells fantastic, manly and clean and a million times better than 99% of hotel rooms! LOL! I'll be packing this for a trip we have coming up in a few weeks! Love.

I came up with a total value of about $35 for this box. Even though the products were a little off for us this month, I love the candle and the box was a steal for less than $8 (after reviews)!!! Ministry of Supply Atmos Base Layer, $38 - EEK!! Every box includes a lifestyle item and I'm PUMPED that this was mine! I JUST ordered hubs the black one of these fab v-neck tees for Christmas and now I have a white one to put with it, too. These are totally his style and feel amazing. The reviews are SO good. He's going to love them!

Hanz de Fuko Modify Pomade, $4 - I'm guessing on value of this. Hubby loves trying hair products! :)

Ursa Major Essential Face Wipes, $2.50 - We are all about the convenience of some wipes around here! He will love using these to do a quick face wash when he gets home from work!

Evolution Man Cleanse & Shave, $2.50 - Hmmm... can use it to wash your face and/or shave. Sounds like a man's perfect product! One thing does all! LOL!

Histories de Parfums 1899, $4 - This stuff retails for $125 a bottle and I was anxious to see what it smells like. It's freakin fantastic. Even at that high price it's out of stock on Birchbox so obviously everyone else thought so, too. Can't wait to see how it smells on! 

I came up with a value of $51 for my first Birchbox Man box and I couldn't be happier with it. It was a perfect match for my man! Birchbox gives you points for reviewing items in the box, equal to $1 per item, to spend on their site. I paid an equivalent of $12.42 for this box and, after I do the reviews ($5), I will have gotten $50+ of goodies for less than $8! Super pumped about this subscription!
