Weekend Recap

It was another fun and busy weekend around here! Are there people who actually lay around and REST on the weekends?!? I wonder what that's like?? LOL!

On Friday the hubs and I had a busy date night! We started out the night at the University of Louisville basketball game and then ended the night at the Toad the Wet Sprocket concert. They are easily hubby's all-time favorite band and one of his main musical influences, so anytime he gets the chance to see them is truly a moment in his happy place!!

Ran into our Hawaii family's family!

On Saturday we ran around to various lessons with the girls and then spent the late afternoon/night at the Louisville football game. These double header weekends are crazy for us fans!! LOL!  The Cards got the win but it was a rather lackluster game and kind of a bummer since it was our last time to see Teddy Bridgewater play in a UL uni at home and he didn't even throw for a single touchdown... Oh well. It was a perfect night for some football and the Cards are 9-1!

Teddy B running the offense!

After the football game we stopped by a gig that was packed with friends! And I don't have a single picture from there, too much fun socializing I guess! #fail! LOL!

Sunday was spent... putting up all the Christmas decorations!! YAY!! This is kind of psycho-early to get that done but OMG it feels awesome that we've done it! I'm winning this year. I'm going to be relaxed and ahead of the game and ENJOYING Christmas rather than running around like a loon!

Busy, busy, busy!! Hope everyone's week is rolling along smoothly! Happy Tuesday everyone!! :D

Friday iPhone Photo Dump Linkup!

TGIF!!! YAYyyyy!! Time to link up with Jennifer over at Ramblings of a Suburban Mom to clear out the phone pictures of the week!

SHEW. First week of the school year is in the books and, MAN, 6:15 comes EARLY. We've done great this week but are looking forward to sleeping in a little the next couple of days!!

This week started with an awesome weekend!! We had family over on Friday to host hub's sister and her fiancee, visiting from Texas. It was a GORGEOUS night to play some cornhole and just enjoy the weather!!

Pep thinks everyone is a jungle gym... LOL

Then the weekend ended with a fun night out with friends at Bruno Mars! SOOOoo nice to have some grownup time to cut loose!! Here's my recap of the night out!

Suite = lots of room to get silly!

I have several cute animal pictures this week!

Girls in school = more time for walks = happy Boo!

We <3 all the bunnies in the neighborhood!! They aren't even scared anymore! :)

Chewy the squirrel is settling in nicely...

All of the rain has brought SO MANY rainbows this week! Loves it!!

Hoping to get into something exciting tomorrow night!! Have a great weekend everyone!! :D

Date night! Bruno Mars Concert!

Woot Woot! One of the best parts about living in a bigger city with A+ facilities? Every awesome concert comes through town! Last weekend we had tickets to the Bruno Mars show and got together with some friends to make a night of it!!

First of all, always, what to wear?? Here's what I went with!

* V neck t-shirt from Victoria's Secret Pink. My favorite! These are perfect!!

* Current Elliott tie dye crop jeans

* Bauble Bar rose gold pimp necklace

* Old Navy sequin crossbody

* Christian Louboutin 140mm Bianca in Hot Pink

And then, next question, what to drink?? Hubs created a signature drink for the pre-party, a Mars martini!

The extensive ingredients!

One of the test runs!

I'm not sure what the mixture, etc., involved, but the thing tasted like dessert, kind of like a (cold) hot chocolate/white russian mix? He even froze the candy bars to try to use chunks of them as "ice cubes"! Creative! :)

I made the Bourbon Baked Brie that is one of our favorite, favorite apps (recipe here)! OMG... that thing is delicious. I was so excited to eat it, I totally forgot to take a picture of how pretty it looks right out of the oven. Here's a delicious plate that I reheated the next day!

nom nom nom nom

We headed downtown to the YUM Center and I tried to get all the University of Kentucky fans in our group to take a pic with our beloved Louisville Cardinal bird (and throw up the "L" that's our team sign)... kind of a fail. For those who don't know, this rivalry is serious business! LOL!

We ran into a friend who had basically an empty suite to himself so we gathered up our friends and moved to primo seats! Lots of room for dancing, dancing, dancing!!

View from the suite! Nice!

The crew!

So many selfie FAILS, this one was at least not totally ridiculous! LOL!

Yep... DANCIN'...

And a few pics of Mr. Mars! Most of my pics were super blurry from dancing! LOL!

Such a FUN night out!! Love this city and LOVE the chance to cut loose!!

Friday iPhone photo dump

Time to link up again with Jennifer over at Ramblings of a Suburban Mom for the weekly photo dump!

The most fun thing I've done since last Friday was definitely the Tom Petty concert I rocked with hubs! So so so much fun! I took a picture of the other shows coming to the Klipsch Music Center outdoor schedule this summer. Wish we could make the Jimmy Buffett show!!

Not gonna lie, would love to see Jonas Bros, too!

Tom Petty = my most steps in a day ever!

The girls have put on lots of fashion shows for me this week and continue to crack me up! Pepper is legit obsessed with the boys swim trunks she HAD to have and I'm still laughing over her mustache for cheer practice! LOL!

There is SO MUCH construction going on in my neighborhood. It's awesome, and exciting, but loud and NOT exciting at the same time...

We decided what we are doing for my birthday next month! Hubs and I are going to see the famous (?) swimming pigs in the Exumas, Bahamas. They swim right out to the boat so you can feed them! I have SO many pics of them on my phone. Can't WAIT to see them in person!!

WTH. That's the biggest "pig" I've ever seen

O.M.G. I WANT that speckled one!!!

And just a few other things like the Zumbaz that still make me laugh from a conversation with Brandy at Mommy Splurge and the random helicopter that has been parked at the Outback down the street recently? Guess this is the newest mode of transport in our parts!

Really?? I just want a pimped out golf cart... ;)

So that's pretty much it! We are 2+ weeks past Dylan's surgery and since things are back to normal for her, we are hopefully starting on REALLY enjoying our summer!! Can't wait to see what everyone else has been up to this week!! :)

Normal kid things!! YIPPEE!!

Tom Petty - Perfect Summer Night!

Ahhh... date night! Tom Petty concert at Klipsch Music Center in Noblesville, Indiana, last weekend. We were coming off of a couple of stressful weeks and SO needed the chance to cut loose together! Indiana is definitely not my favorite, but it provided a great time this time!

This was seriously the pretty much perfect way to see an outdoor summer show. We had a room at Cambria Suites, a mile from the venue, and walked both ways. Beautiful night, no parking hassles, nobody having to be the "responsible" driver. Perfect!!

The place was PACKED. They made an announcement at one point that it was the largest crowd ever at the venue. I wonder if Dave Matthews still draws massive numbers?? I haven't been to one of those shows in years but I'm thinking next weekend will be pretty busy at Klipsch, too!

Making friends with the people around us! LOL!

I've been such a huge Tom Petty fan my whole life and this was the first time I got to see him live. Pretty stoked.

There were sooooo many questionable fashion decisions, I really didn't even try to stalk them this time.  These were a couple that made their way onto my facebook page... LOL

I thought she was in her 60s until she turned around,
was probably 16. Ugh. Cheeks were out. SO unflattering.

I showed the girls and Pepper said, "It's BLONDE.
Omg. I thought it would be black. It's so much worse!" LMAO!

Again, you can, but you really shouldn't.

The show lasted from 7:30 until after 11 and I was seriously SO dissapointed for it to be over. It was easily the fastest show I've ever seen in my life. Loved every minute of it! And love my hubs so much. He is my absolute bestest friend and I cannot imagine possibly having more fun with anyone else. Best date night EVER?? Maybe!!

Blurry from dancing, duck face improv!

One last pic in my fun daisies before turning in.
Perfect night! <3 xoxo
